Maria Bamford

Maria Bamford is coming to the Neptune Theatre on Saturday, October 17, for a stand-up comedy show. If you've followed her work, you know she doesn't exactly do the standard club set. She's built a whole career around a very specific, singular voice—one that often jumps between characters and leans into the absurd, usually with a sharp, self-deprecating edge. Seeing her live is the best way to get the full effect of how she works, since so much of the comedy is in the delivery and the timing.

This is a solo show, so it's just Bamford on stage. There's no opening act or supporting lineup to work through first; she's the main feature and the only one on the bill. The whole night is her set, from start to finish. If you're already a fan, it's a chance to hear her material in person rather than through a recording. If you're new to her, it's a good place to start, since you'll get a full hour of her work without any other acts splitting the evening.

The show is on Saturday, October 17, at the Neptune Theatre in Seattle. It starts at 8 PM, so it's a late-night slot on a Saturday—the kind of time that works well for a comedy show. You can find tickets through Live Nation.
