Lloyd Cole performs his solo set, ranging from The Commotions' debut to 2023's 'On Pain', using his Telecaster and Princeton amp.
Lloyd Cole plays The Triple Door on Friday, October 9, as part of a run of solo shows across North America in 2026. The set runs the gamut from the Commotions' debut Rattlesnakes right up to 2023's On Pain, so you'll hear songs from the very beginning of his career alongside his most recent work.
For these concerts, Cole has chosen to go electric. His solo live performances in recent years have been predominantly acoustic, but this time he's back with his Telecaster and his Princeton amp. He recalls that in 1999, in retreat from mainstream ambivalence, the idea of becoming a troubadour became alluring and The Folksinger Show became his staple; twenty-five years later, he's returned to the electric setup, wanting his body of work to be labeled as something other than folk.
