Concert by the British four-piece band Lime Garden at The Barboza in Seattle, strictly 21 and over.
Lime Garden play The Barboza on Monday, November 2, their first Seattle date since they first made a name for themselves on the UK festival circuit. They're a four-piece from Brighton and Hove, and they've spent the last couple of years moving from the festival stages of Glastonbury and Green Man to the studio. Their debut, One More Thing, came out in 2024 and earned them a reputation for playing live across the UK, and they've followed it up with a second album, Maybe Not Tonight, released through So Young Records.
That second record is the one they're touring now, and it's got a bit of a story behind it. It was produced by Charlie Andrew—the producer who worked with Wolf Alice and alt-J—with additional production from the band's own drummer, Annabel Whittle. Much of the album grew out of Whittle's home-recorded demos, so the songs started in a bedroom before they were fleshed out in the studio. The band lists their influences as a wide-ranging mix: Bon Iver, A.G. Cook, Jim-E Stack, Magdalena Bay, The Breeders, St. Vincent, and New Order. That's a lot of ground to cover in one set, stretching from indie rock and art-pop to the more electronic, textural side of things.
They've picked up some high-profile backing along the way, too. NME, The Independent, BBC 6music, and KEXP have all tipped them, and they've had public support from Johnny Marr and Hayley Williams. Between the festival pedigree and the new album, they're coming to Seattle with a fair amount of momentum behind them.
