A four-week comedy and social media class with Ellen Acuario, including a graduation show on November 12.
Ellen Acuario is teaching a four-week comedy and social media class at Laughs Comedy Club, with the first session on Monday, October 19. It runs every Monday for a month, starting at 6 PM, and wraps up with a graduation show on Thursday, November 12, at 8 PM. The whole thing is held at Laughs, 5220 Roosevelt Way Northeast in Seattle.
Acuario is a well-known presence in the local scene. Her stand-up draws on her life as a working mother, a person of color, and a woman chasing her dreams, and she's performed at The Comedy Nest, Laughs, and Parlor Comedy Club. She was selected for the Seattle Intersections Comedy Festival and the HBO-sponsored Women in Comedy Festival in Boston, appeared on the Cut series LineUp on YouTube, toured with Crazy Woke Asians in Seattle, and was a featured storyteller on the RISK Podcast live tour. She also spent time as a cohost contestant on the 106.1 KISS FM morning show with Carla Marie & Anthony.
The course is designed to pull back the curtain on the tools comedians use to find their voice and make people laugh, and then show how to apply those same tools to your own life and whatever platform you choose. It's not just about stand-up; it's about taking those comedic instincts and putting them to work in your own way.
