Hip-hop band Kumité performs with The Sound and the Fury, Dogstrum and Pent Up! at Tim's Tavern.
Kumité headlines Tim's Tavern on Sunday, March 21, with The Sound and the Fury, Dogstrum, and Pent Up! on the bill. It's a full afternoon of music in West Seattle, with the first act starting at 12 PM.
Kumité formed in 2018, pulled together from members of Irukandji, and played their debut show at the Central Saloon on August 28, 2021. Fronted by Soladoye, they make a dark brand of hip-hop built on ominous beats and thought-provoking lyrics. Since that first show, they've become fixtures of the Seattle scene, playing local festivals and dates across the Puget Sound.
Sharing the bill is Pent Up!, a Seattle-area post-pop-punk band that started in a basement during the pandemic in 2021. The lineup consists of guitarists Brendan Honeycutt and Nick Kurtz, drummer Nate Oelrich, and bassist Matt Lonergan. The Sound and the Fury and Dogstrum round out the lineup, making it a four-band afternoon.
