Solo-acoustic, nonpartisan voter registration and civic engagement tour by King Youngblood, a Seattle alt-rock band.
King Youngblood plays the University of Washington on Wednesday, November 4, as part of the Make Your Voice Heard Loud & Vote Tour. It's a solo-acoustic, nonpartisan voter registration and civic engagement tour, and this is the Seattle stop. The show is free, like all the tour's campus dates.
Behind the name is Cameron Lavi-Jones, a University of Washington communications graduate and the son of former Black Panther Maurice Jones Jr. He's spent the last few years working as a social-justice public speaker and community organizer, and he started this campaign back in 2018. During the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests in Seattle's Capitol Hill, he co-founded the podcast The Revolution Will Be Harmonized. He also co-founded Black & Loud Fest with Down North's Anthony Briscoe to put a spotlight on Black-fronted alternative artists.
As a band, King Youngblood has been called "Seattle's Alt-Rock Princes" by Alternative Press. They released BIG THANK in 2022, and this year they put out AFROTHUNDA II, an 11-song album and multimedia project that expands on the sci-fi Afro-Punk universe they first built in 2022. This tour strips things down to a solo-acoustic set, with Lavi-Jones performing on his own.

The tour is built around the idea that young people across the country deserve to be heard, starting with but not ending at voting. The show is on Wednesday, November 4, at 12 PM at the University of Washington, and admission is free.
