Jon McLaughlin performs live at Woodlawn Hall as part of his The Scenarios Tour.
Jon McLaughlin plays Woodlawn Hall on Friday, October 9, as part of The Scenarios Tour. He's a piano-led singer-songwriter who writes from his own life, and that comes through in the songs. He grew up in Anderson, Indiana, and now lives in Nashville, and he's a father of two young girls — a detail that shows up in his work.
He released his debut album, Indiana, in 2007 on Island Def Jam, and six full-length records have followed, with his piano playing and singing evolving along the way. Over the years, he's played alongside Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson, and Adele, collaborated with Sara Bareilles, co-written with Demi Lovato, and performed at the Academy Awards in 2008.
His discography covers a fair bit of ground. There's the 2015 album Like Us and the Christmas EP Red & Green from 2017, then Angst & Grace in 2018, which includes "Still My Girl," a song he wrote for his youngest daughter. He also put out two instrumental piano albums, MOOD in 2019 and MOOD II in 2020, followed by the full-length All The Things I Say To Myself. In the fall of 2022, he marked the 15th anniversary of Indiana, which was remastered and reissued on vinyl.
