Author Jodi Picoult presents her novel 'Hollow Bones' at Town Hall Seattle; tickets include a signed copy and a photo with the author.
Jodi Picoult comes to Town Hall Seattle on Wednesday, October 14, to talk about her latest novel, Hollow Bones. The evening is part of the Oculus Series, and she'll be joined on stage by Julia Quinn. The whole thing runs about 75 minutes.
If you're not familiar with Picoult, she's a #1 New York Times bestselling author with thirty novels to her name. You've likely come across My Sister's Keeper, Small Great Things, Wish You Were Here, or Mad Honey, which she co-authored with Jennifer Finney Boylan. She's also written the young adult novels Between the Lines and Off the Page with her daughter, Samantha van Leer. Her work is known for taking on complex moral and ethical issues—reproductive rights, racism, school shootings, end-of-life choices—and treating them with nuance rather than easy answers.
Sharing the stage is Julia Quinn, whose novels have been translated into 43 languages and served as the basis for the Netflix series Bridgerton. The two come from very different ends of the fiction world, so it should be an interesting pairing.

This is one stop on a larger tour for Hollow Bones that hits Canada, the US, the UK, and Ireland. Picoult has noted that many of these events charge admission because they draw large crowds and bookstores have to cover venue costs; she adds that in the UK and Australia, book events are almost never free. The Seattle show is at The Great Hall, 1119 Eighth Avenue, starting at 7:30 PM, with doors opening at 6:30 PM. General admission tickets are $50 to $70 and include a signed copy of Hollow Bones and a professional photo with the author, though she won't be personalizing the copies.
