Jeff Goldblum and his band The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra perform contemporary jazz arrangements with the Seattle Symphony.
Jeff Goldblum & the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra play Benaroya Hall on Sunday, October 11, with the Seattle Symphony backing them. Goldblum is on piano and voice, and the whole thing is conducted by Bryan Carter. It's a contemporary jazz set, so you'll get the orchestra filling out the sound around the band.
Goldblum started the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra 30 years ago, and they've put out four albums with Decca Records since then. Those records have featured guests like Gregory Porter, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Fiona Apple, and Freda Payne, so the group has a habit of pulling in voices from across the board. Their latest, Still Blooming, debuted at number one on the Official Jazz & Blues Albums Chart and hit number ten on the UK Official Albums Chart in 2025. They followed that up with a companion album, Night Blooms, which came out June 5, 2026.
Conducting is Bryan Carter, a two-time Grammy and Tony Award-winning drummer, vocalist, and composer. He's worked with Wynton Marsalis and Kurt Elling, and he picked up a Tony, an Outer Critics Circle Award, and a Drama Desk Award for his orchestrations on Broadway's Some Like It Hot. He'll be the one leading the symphony through the arrangements.
