Stand-up comedy show with Jay Jurden, comedian and writer from New York, known for his work on 'The Problem with Jon Stewart' and Hulu's 'Yes Ma'am'.
Jay Jurden is playing the Emerald City Comedy Club in Seattle from Thursday, October 15, through Saturday, October 17. He's a comedian and writer from New York, and he's coming in with a new Hulu special, Yes Ma'am, which is a full hour that's been described as a breakout for him. If you've never heard his name before, that's a good place to start.
Jurden's path to the stage is a bit of a mix. He's originally from Mississippi and now based in New York, and he's spent as much time writing as he has performing. He was a staff writer for Apple TV+'s Emmy-nominated The Problem with Jon Stewart, and his writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Vulture, Teen Vogue, McSweeney's, and Marvel's Voices: X-Men #1. On the performance side, he's been a four-time guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and has appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Central, and HBO's High Maintenance. In 2022, Variety named him one of its 10 Comics to Watch, and his debut album, Jay Jurden Y'all, premiered at number one on iTunes. He was also selected for Just For Laughs: New Faces.
