Hiss Golden Messenger performs live on their I'm People Tour, with special guest Sam Amidon, at the historic Tractor Tavern in Ballard.
Hiss Golden Messenger plays The Tractor Tavern on Saturday, October 10, as part of the I'm People tour. They're bringing Sam Amidon along to open the night, so there are two acts on the bill.
Hiss Golden Messenger is the project of M.C. Taylor, a songwriter from Durham, North Carolina. For nearly two decades, he's partnered with Brooklyn multi-instrumentalist and recordist Scott Hirsch, and the sound they've built sits at the crossroads of folk, Americana and indie. It's music that draws from those traditions without fitting neatly into any one of them, and the I'm People tour is the latest run around that material.
The venue is The Tractor Tavern, over in historic downtown Ballard. It's been booking nightly entertainment for more than 30 years, programming local, national and international acts, so it's a familiar spot for live music in the neighborhood. The show starts at 8 PM, with Sam Amidon opening for Taylor.
