Electronic music concert by French 79 (Simon Henner) with special guests Close to the Giants at the Neumos venue in Seattle.
French 79 plays Neumos on Saturday, May 1, 2027, with special guests Close to the Giants. French 79 is the stage name of Simon Henner, a Marseille producer who has spent the last decade carving out a distinct space in electronic music. He's often linked to the French Touch sound, and Jean-Michel Jarre himself has called him its heir.
Across three albums—Olympic, Joshua, and TEENAGERS—Henner has built an immersive electronic universe that's gathered 770,000 fans and more than 1.7 million monthly Spotify listeners, with those first three records together pulling over 150 million streams. Olympic came after the 2014 EP Angel, which gave us the synth-heavy "Between the Buttons," a track that became an instant hit. That album also featured the duet "Diamond Veins" with North American singer Sarah Rebecca and led to more than 150 concerts worldwide. Joshua, which arrived in 2019, was a more personal record, steeped in the nostalgic atmosphere of his childhood and referencing Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, and Soft Machine.
Outside the studio, Henner's work reaches beyond the dance floor. He scored the film Sur un fil, composed for brands like Apple, Dior, and L'Oréal, and staged a video mapping of Place Stanislas in Nancy. That range—from the club to the cinema to the city square—is part of what makes his live sets more than just a DJ set.
