French electronic producer and multi-instrumentalist FKJ performs live at Showbox SoDo in Seattle.
FKJ plays Showbox SoDo on Friday, April 23, 2027, starting at 9 PM. If you've come across his name before, you probably know him as a multi-instrumentalist who handles a lot of the heavy lifting himself. The moniker belongs to Vincent Fenton, a French musician whose mother is Gallic and whose father is New Zealander. He grew up in a small French village outside Tours, where he picked up the guitar and the saxophone by age seven, and later moved to Paris to study sound and film.
He first made a name for himself as a SoundCloud producer blending house and jazz, with the 2013 Time For A Change EP. His 2017 self-titled debut featured the hit "Tadow" with Masego, and the 2019 Ylang Ylang EP followed a year in which his wife, June—who performs as ((( O )))—miscarried. The two married and now live on an island off the south coast of the Philippines, where he records. His 2023 album V I N C E N T, his second, draws on the freedom of being a teenager and features guests like Santana, June, Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano, and Toro Y Moi. His sound spans electronic, R&B/soul, and funk.
