A recurring lunch gathering at The Swedish Club featuring a traditional Nordic sillbord buffet and coffee with desserts.
The Swedish Club is hosting Fika on Wednesday, October 14, from 12 PM to 2 PM. It's a recurring lunch at the club, which is a Seattle venue devoted to Swedish and Nordic culture, and the meal centers on a traditional Nordic spread: a sillbord, the herring-centered buffet of pickled herring with sides of potatoes, eggs, and cheese, alongside a full Fika table of coffee and desserts. The room looks out over Lake Union and downtown Seattle.
The club programs the tradition alongside other Nordic customs, like the weekly Syjunta crafting circle—inspired by the Swedish habit of gathering informally to make things and chat—and the annual Lucia Celebration, a family-friendly holiday tradition. Every visit supports the preservation of Nordic heritage.
