Country and folk singer-songwriter Emily Scott Robinson performs with Alice Wallace at The Rabbit Box in Seattle.
Emily Scott Robinson plays The Rabbit Box on Sunday, November 8, with Alice Wallace opening. Robinson is a Colorado songwriter who's been touring for a decade, and this is her fifth album since she started out. The new record, Appalachia, came out this year on Oh Boy Records and was recorded at Dreamland Recording Studios with Grammy-nominated producer Josh Kaufman.
If you're just getting to know her, there's a bit of a trail to follow. Her 2019 album Traveling Mercies and 2021's American Siren both placed high on Rolling Stone's year-end lists for best country and Americana albums, and American Siren also made Stereogum's top ten country list for that year. One song from that period, "Let 'Em Burn," landed at number 19 on NPR's 100 Best Songs of 2021. It was The Time for Flowers, which she recorded at home during the pandemic, that caught the attention of Oh Boy Records—the independent label John Prine founded back in 1981. Since then, she's been written up in the Washington Post, Billboard, American Songwriter, and No Depression.

Alice Wallace opens the bill, so there are two songwriters on the stage rather than just one. The show is at The Rabbit Box, 94 Pike Street, in downtown Seattle. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the music starts at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the show.
