Seattle's only open mic for improv, featuring two-person improv comedy teams performing fast-paced, unscripted comedy.
Duo Comedy Showcase kicks off at Unexpected Productions on Wednesday, October 7, and it runs every Wednesday through December 30, 2026. It's billed as Seattle's only open mic dedicated to two-person improv teams, so the whole night is built around pairs rather than solo acts or full troupes.
That's the core of it: improvisers of all experience levels pair up and take the stage to build fast-paced, unscripted comedy right in front of the audience. The open mic format means you'll see a real mix on any given night. Newer performers use it to sharpen their skills, while seasoned improvisers take bigger swings with their sets. Every team gets a chance to make something bold, weird, and unforgettable, and because it's an open mic, the energy changes from week to week depending on who shows up.
Unexpected Productions is a hub for improv in the city, and this is just one part of what they're running. On Thursdays they have Loose Cannons; Friday and Saturday nights bring Poe Unexpected: Edgar Allan Poe Improvised and Seattle Theatresports, and Saturday nights add a Rocky Horror Improv Show that mashes up the cult classic with live improv. Theatresports is a trademark of Keith Johnstone and is exclusively licensed by the International Theatresports Institute.
