Acting workshop for working actors to hone their craft with feedback from Seattle actors and directors.
Conservatory Acting is back at the Seattle Repertory Theatre on Monday, October 5, at 7 PM. It's a workshop for working actors to hone their craft and keep their skills sharp, and the format is pretty straightforward: you bring in scenes or monologues you're already working on and run them in front of the room. From there, you get to work with prominent Seattle actors, directors, and teaching artists who give individualized feedback on your work. It's less of a class and more of a space to get a fresh set of eyes on your material.
The program is intended for actors at the intermediate level or above, so it's geared toward people who already have some experience under their belt rather than absolute beginners. Sessions are offered in September and November and are sold separately, so you can drop in for one or do both.

It's also worth keeping in mind the kind of house you're working in. The Rep's stages have their own history: the Bagley Wright Theater, the company's largest space with 673 seats, opened in 1983 with the world premiere of Michael Weller's The Ballad of Soapy Smith; the Leo Kreielsheimer Theatre opened in 1996 as the Rep's second stage; and the Poncho Forum, a black-box space built in 1983, is used daily for rehearsals, new play readings, and youth arts education. The session runs on October 5 at 7 PM, and tickets are $225.
