A candlelit concert where The Seattle String Quartet reimagines the greatest hits of Hans Zimmer, from Inception to Pirates of the Caribbean.
The Seattle String Quartet is taking over The Museum of Flight on Thursday, October 22, for a Candlelight concert dedicated to the soundtracks of Hans Zimmer. It's part of the Candlelight series, which brings live classical and popular music to intimate settings lit by thousands of LED candles. The format repeats across several Seattle venues—The Museum of Flight, the Arctic Club Hotel, the National Nordic Museum, and Sparkman Cellars—with string quartets reimagining everything from Vivaldi to Fleetwood Mac.
This particular night focuses on Zimmer's best-known work. The quartet will play through his biggest hits, with Inception, Gladiator, and Pirates of the Caribbean among the titles. Each concert runs about an hour, and the music is played under the soft glow of flickering candles.
If you're planning to go, there are a few things to keep in mind. Doors open 30 to 45 minutes before the show starts, so you've got a bit of a window to get settled before the music begins. The minimum age is generally 8, and younger guests need to be accompanied by an adult.
