Electronic music session featuring Bluetech, Asher Fulero's Worlds Live, and Ovoid at Hidden Hall.
Bluetech headlines Hidden Hall on Thursday, October 8, with Asher Fulero and Ovoid rounding out the bill. It's a long-distance gathering: Bluetech comes from Pahoa, Hawaii; Fulero from Portland; and Ovoid from Chandler, Arizona.
Asher Fulero is a Portland keyboardist and producer who's worked across genres with Emancipator, Aesop Rock, Paul Gilbert, and Yonder Mountain String Band, putting out nearly 50 albums over the last 25 years. His LP Worlds, released in November 2024, blends downtempo IDM, indie live-electronic, and post-rock. The Worlds: Live show recreates those studio pieces woven with live instrumentation from his EDM alter-ego, Halo Refuser, played by a four-piece band that includes Brett McConnell on lap steel, Dan Duval on guitars, and Chelsea Luker on saxophone and flute.
Bluetech, based in Pahoa, Hawaii, recently put out Basement Dubs, three remixes and two originals. He's currently converting his workspace into a solar-powered studio, and the sales from that EP are funding the project. Ovoid joins them from Arizona to round out the night.
