High-energy bass music night featuring AHEE, with Mport and Xotix taking to the decks.
AHEE plays The Showbox on Saturday, October 17, with Mport b2b Xotix opening the night. AHEE is the recording and performing name of Chris Adams, a multi-genre DJ, producer, and performer whose work explores the high-energy end of bass music. He's known for New Bounce and Breaks, and he's spent as much time headlining as he has touring and releasing records.
Adams describes his fascination with festival culture as starting at gatherings like Lightning In A Bottle and Coachella. That influence carries into his work as the producer of The Lucent Dossier Experience, which he's toured alongside his releases as AHEE. The bass-driven The Eclipse EP came out on Solstice Records in March 2016. That April, his New Bounce remix of iLL.Gates & KJ Sawka's "Unsung Heroes" won the Unsung Heroes remix contest and hit number two on the Beatport Breaks Top 10.
In October 2016, Next Level EP came out on KJ Sawka's Impossible Records, where it hit number one on the Beatport Breaks chart and held the spot for three weeks. By January 2017, he'd signed with Play Me Records to release "Fire," followed by the Dank Sauce EP in March 2017. He's since released on Warner Records and Play Me, and has played SXSW. The set on the 17th will lean into that same New Bounce and Breaks sound he's built around.
