Black metal band Agriculture performs live at Substation, with support from Uniform and Pure Hex. 18+ only event.
Agriculture play Substation on Tuesday, November 17, with support from Uniform and Pure Hex. It's a black metal bill that brings together three bands in one night, and Agriculture is the one that takes the headlining slot.
Agriculture are a Los Angeles-based black metal band who emerged from the city's noise scene. The lineup consists of Dan Meyer, Leah Levinson, Richard Chowenhill, and Kern Haug. Their sound fuses the intensity of black metal with Zen Buddhist thought, queer history, and devotional songwriting, and they build their work around themes of community and persistence. It's a specific combination of influences that sets them apart from the more conventional end of the genre.
They're not coming alone, either. Uniform and Pure Hex open the night, so you'll get three acts before the night wraps. If you're not already familiar with them, Agriculture is the one that pulls from those Buddhist and queer histories, and they're the ones who grew out of the LA noise scene.
