Lawless Forge Seattle is a blacksmithing studio, metalworking workshop, and craft school in the SoDo industrial district. The studio is at 45 S Spokane St, Seattle, WA 98134, in a navy blue building with corrugated windows near the train tracks. There is ample free parking, which makes getting there by car fairly straightforward. The setting is industrial and practical rather than polished, and classes are built for beginners, with no previous experience required. Sessions can include up to 14 additional participants, so it is a hands-on group activity without requiring you to already know how to use a forge.

The public classes focus on making one useful or decorative item to take home. The Horseshoe Knife is the most popular option: it takes about three hours, costs $90 per adult or $70 for a child, and includes power tools such as belt sanders. Other choices include the Coffee Scoop for $80 and two hours, the Space Needle Bottle Opener for $85 and two hours, the Garden Trowel for $95 and three hours, and the Flower Bouquet for $90 and three hours. The Damascus Steel Ring costs $175 per person, takes three to four hours, and is limited to five participants. For adults 18 and older, the Kindling Axe is a longer six-hour project for up to four people and costs $300 per person. These classes work for dates, birthdays, or anyone who would rather make something than simply buy a souvenir.
Lawless Forge was founded and is owned by Max Levi. The studio also offers a more advanced Master Class, while private and corporate events are available through the business, with Seattle group events accommodating up to 150 people. Children age six and older can attend, although anyone 14 or under must have an adult included on the reservation. Safety equipment is provided; closed-toe shoes, cotton pants, and a cotton shirt are recommended. Food and drinks are allowed with prior catering arrangements, and the building is accessible for a wide range of physical disabilities. Finished pieces are shipped rather than carried home because TSA treats items such as bottle openers as weapons. Shipping costs $12 per box, with delivery usually taking about five days. Reservations and cancellation rules matter: cancellations more than 21 days ahead receive a full refund, while cancellations within 21 days incur a 50% fee. Gift cards do not expire, and discounts are available for military members, nonprofits, and youth.
