Electronic music night featuring WonkyWilla and The Sponges at Music Box, over-21s only.
WonkyWilla plays Music Box on Saturday, October 31, with The Sponges opening. It's a Halloween night show, so if you're already planning to be out, this is one to keep on the radar.
WonkyWilla is the stage name of Nicholas Olivieri, a 22-year-old producer from Florida whose sound is built around bass and dubstep. He's a name that's started to move beyond the underground: his track Orgasmic has gathered more than 3 million streams, and Wook Dancer is closing in on half a million. That numbers game has translated into a real following and a run of stages shared with acts like TvBoo, Ahee, Champagne Drip, Super Future and Zingara. If you've spent any time in the bass scene lately, you've probably crossed paths with a few of those names.
It's a standing-room-only night, so you'll be on your feet for the whole thing. The venue is 21+, so keep that in mind before you head down. Doors open at 8 PM, and the show starts at 9 PM, which gives you plenty of time to get settled before the music kicks in.
