A night of electronic and breakcore music featuring The Creepy Creeps, Mistress 77, Widows and Rey Wolf at Casbah.
The Creepy Creeps are playing Casbah on Saturday, October 31, with a full bill that puts them right in the middle of Halloween night. It's a San Diego act, so they're playing on their home turf.
If you're not familiar with them, the description they use for their sound is a bit of a puzzle. They call themselves an A'cappella / Breakcore / Ghettotech outfit. That's three very different things in one sentence: a cappella is all voice, breakcore is high-speed, chopped-up beats, and ghettotech is a dance style that blends Detroit techno with Miami bass. Putting them together suggests a night that's as much about the voice as it is about the dance floor, and given the date, it fits the mood of the evening.
They aren't the only ones on the bill. The lineup includes Mistress 77, Widows, and Rey Wolf, so there are four acts to work through over the course of the night. With a bill that deep, the music will keep moving well past the first set.
