Legendary UK punk band The Adicts perform live at Music Box in San Diego.
The Adicts play Music Box on Wednesday, October 21, at 1337 India Street in San Diego. They're a UK punk band from Ipswich, Suffolk, and they've been at this since 1975, when they first started playing together. Their first full-length album, Songs Of Praise, came out on Dwed Records in 1981, and they've spent more than four decades since then building a reputation for high-energy shows, infectious melodies, and a Clockwork Orange-inspired look. Their live sets are built on sing-alongs and theatrical flair, which has made them a festival favorite around the world.
They still tour heavily, playing as many as 50 shows a year, and their original lineup remains mostly intact with Pete Dee, Kid Dee, Monkey, and Highko Strom. Most recently, they released And It Was So, recorded as a real band without manufactured sounds and signed to Nuclear Blast Records. That's the kind of thing they're bringing to the stage here—the newer material alongside the older songs they've been playing for years.
