Skinlab, Cemetery Legacy, Cascade Effect, Stretcher

Skinlab headline The Holding Company on Wednesday, October 8, with Cemetery Legacy, Cascade Effect and Stretcher rounding out the bill. It's a full night of rock and metal in Ocean Beach, with doors opening at 6:30 PM.

Cascade Effect is the local name to keep an eye on here. They're a five-piece modern metal band from San Diego, and their sound pulls from a few different places: deathcore and groove metal for the heavy lifting, with the melody and atmosphere of progressive and melodic death metal layered on top, all driven by the raw energy of nu metal. Every member comes from years of performing in respected San Diego metal acts, so there's a good bit of local history behind the lineup. They describe their name as a reflection of their philosophy—that a single moment can set off a chain reaction that grows larger and more unstoppable with time.

They've been moving fast lately. In 2024, they won the Wacken Metal Battle USA and represented the United States at Wacken Open Air in Germany. Since then, they've shared stages with Fear Factory, Powerman 5000, Sylosis, Escape The Fate, HED PE, Infected Rain and Stitched Up Heart. They also signed a worldwide deal with Eclipse Records and released their debut album, The Weight of Nothingness, on January 8, 2027.

The Holding Company is a three-story restaurant, bar and live music venue on Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach, just a few steps from the beach. It's a good spot to grab a drink and a bite before the music starts. The show kicks off at 6:30 PM, with Skinlab leading a four-band bill that includes Cemetery Legacy, Cascade Effect and Stretcher.
