A session of roots and reggae music with DJs Chunky Roots and Selektah Olemca at The Harp.
Selecta Fari brings Rootikal Riddim to The Harp on Friday, October 9, for a night of roots and reggae. It's a DJ-led session rather than a live band, with the music coming from the decks instead of a stage. The lineup features Selecta Fari alongside DJs Chunky Roots and Selektah Olemca, so you'll have three different selectors working the room over the course of the evening.
The title Rootikal Riddim points exactly to what's on the menu: roots reggae and the riddims that drive it. If you're not familiar with the term, a riddim is the instrumental track that serves as the foundation for multiple versions of a song, and that's the kind of sound that'll be running through the night. With three DJs in the mix, the set will pull from different corners of the genre, keeping the roots feel going from start to finish.
