A 21+ Halloween party with pop-up science, bars, DJs, and activities across five floors of the museum.
The Secret Society of Adultologists returns to the San Diego Natural History Museum on Friday, October 30, for a 21+ Halloween party that takes over five floors of the museum. It's billed as San Diego's favorite and nerdiest Halloween weekend event, and it lives up to the name: the whole night is built around the sciences of life and death. You'll wander through decomposition and fossilization, pollination, harvest, and the afterlife, with pop-up science activities and hands-on stations running alongside bars on every level. Museum scientists and local experts are there to guide you through it all, so you can actually talk shop while you're moving between floors.
Costumes are welcome, though there are a couple of rules to keep in mind: faces must remain uncovered, and no weapons are allowed. If you're driving, parking in Balboa Park is free after 6 PM, which makes getting to the museum a lot easier. The party runs from 6 PM to 11 PM, so you've got five hours to work your way through the floors.
