Red Not Chili Peppers headline Night 2 of the Ocean Beach Oktoberfest with a tribute to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Red NOT Chili Peppers headline the second day of the Ocean Beach Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 10, at the Ocean Beach Pier Parking Lot. They're a tribute to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, so you know the set is built around those funk-rock grooves and slap bass lines that define the band. It's the main feature of the Saturday half of the festival, which takes over the parking lot at the foot of Newport Avenue for two days of music and food.
If you're planning to make a weekend of it, the music starts earlier. Friday, October 9, brings its own lineup: The Electric Waste Band, a Grateful Dead tribute, along with Doah's Daydream and Band of Gringos. Between the two days, the festival runs from 4 PM on Friday and noon on Saturday, with the Red NOT Chili Peppers set taking center stage on Saturday.

Logistically, it's all in one spot: the Ocean Beach Pier Parking Lot at 5099 Newport Ave., Gate 4, right by the water. Entry is $20 for the weekend. If you're only coming for the tribute, Saturday is your day; if you want the full run, Friday's lineup keeps the music going from the afternoon on.
