A queer-friendly salsa and bachata social featuring a beginner workshop followed by social dancing, organised by Queer Latin Dance SD.
Queer Latin Dance SD is hosting a queer-friendly salsa and bachata social at Negociant Hillcrest Urban Winery on Friday, October 16. The whole night is built around getting people onto the dance floor, and it starts with a workshop at 7 PM led by Michelle. If you've never danced salsa or bachata before, or if you're just a bit rusty, that's the time to show up and pick up some new moves before the social dancing kicks off at 8 PM. From there, it's open dancing for the rest of the evening, with plenty of room to use what you learned in the workshop and a chance to connect with the community.
It's a queer-friendly space, so you can come as you are and dance with whoever you like. If you're not a dancer yet, the workshop is a low-pressure way to get your feet moving before the social part of the night takes over. Food and drinks are sold separately at the winery, so you can grab a glass of wine or a bite to eat between dances.

Tickets are available at queerlatindance.com/Events. General admission is $25, and there's an early bird price of $20. If you're a QLDSD student, you can get in for $15, but that rate only runs through October 14, so you'll want to grab yours before then. The workshop starts at 7 PM, and the social dancing follows at 8 PM.
