Manga Drawing for Kids

Manga Drawing for Kids is coming to the Mission Valley Branch Library on Saturday, October 17, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. It's a one-hour workshop for kids ages 8 to 13, taught by an instructor from Anime Your Way.

The session is built around manga and anime characters, and you don't need any drawing experience to join in. The instructor will show you how to draw your favorite character from a series you already love, or how to build an original character from scratch if you'd rather start with something of your own. All the materials are provided, so you just need to show up ready to draw.

The workshop takes place in the Community Room at the Mission Valley Branch Library, located at 2123 Fenton Pkwy, San Diego, CA 92108. It's one of thirty-five branches in the San Diego Public Library system, and the 19,760-square-foot facility opened on July 20, 2002. Back then, it picked up an Orchid Award from the San Diego Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for "Best Institutional Design" and "Best Divine Details."

Registration is required at sandiego.events.mylibrary.digital, and the class is free. It runs from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 17, at the Mission Valley Branch Library.
