Christian metal band Living Legacy performs live at McGuffie's Live in San Diego, with support from The High Priestess and Annelida.
Living Legacy play McGuffie's Live on Thursday, October 8, with The High Priestess and Annelida opening. It's a San Diego band playing a San Diego room, so there's no touring bus involved here—just a local bill on a Thursday night.
Living Legacy is a Christian metal band, and their sound sits right at the intersection of Christian metal and metalcore. If you're familiar with the two, you can probably hear where they meet: the heavier, driving side of metal with the rhythmic, syncopated edge that defines metalcore. It's a sound they've kept consistent across their recordings, all of which were tracked at Phuncity Sound.
On stage, the lineup is Russell McCubbin on vocals, Antony Ardis and Dustin Brown on guitar, Justin Kuck on bass, and CJ Ackerman on drums. That's a five-piece with two guitars, which gives them plenty of room to layer the heavier parts of their set. With The High Priestess and Annelida filling out the rest of the bill, the night stays within the same general orbit of heavy music.
