Live music performance by Keller Williams at The Holding Company in San Diego.
Keller Williams plays The Holding Company on Friday, November 6, at 7:30 PM. It's a single-bill night, so he's the only name on the marquee.
For those who aren't familiar, Williams is a musician and performer from Fredericksburg, Virginia. He's built his career around the loop pedal, layering guitar, bass, and percussion on the fly to build out full arrangements by himself. It's a one-man show in the truest sense—he handles the rhythm and the melody at the same time, and the set usually pulls from a wide range of styles, from jam-band improvisation to folk and singer-songwriter territory.
If you've never seen him live, that's a good place to start. The whole draw is watching the songs get built in real time, one loop at a time, rather than just hearing the finished product. It's as much about the process as it is about the music.
