A benefit evening for the San Diego Blood Bank featuring silent auction, wine pull, guest speakers and refreshments to raise funds for a new bloodmobile.
The Gift of Life Benefit is coming to Vesper Venue at Liberty Station on Thursday, October 8, at 6 PM. It's the annual fundraiser for the San Diego Blood Bank, which has been serving the community for 75 years. The night is built around the people who keep the bank running: the blood donors and the financial supporters who make the whole thing possible.
It's a social evening rather than a formal gala. You'll find hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine, and signature cocktails to work your way through, and there's a silent auction and a wine pull to browse while you're at it. The evening closes with guest speakers sharing stories of how blood transfusions changed their livesβa nod to the bank's mobile blood collection program, which takes the donation site to the people instead of waiting for them to come in.
That mobile program is exactly what the night is for. The proceeds go toward buying a new bloodmobile, which keeps blood within reach of local patients and expands donation access across the region. It's a concrete goal: a new vehicle on the road means more people can give, and more patients get what they need.
