A flower arranging workshop led by Native Poppy with mocktails, where 10% of proceeds support breast cancer research.
Native Poppy is hosting a flower arranging workshop at Good News Bar on Saturday, October 10, from 10 AM to 12 PM. It's a morning for beginners: you'll work with locally grown blooms and learn the fundamentals of floral design, then put them to use making a seasonal arrangement to take home in the studio's signature wild style.
Native Poppy runs a monthly Flower Arranging 101 class for beginners, and this session is part of that. If you've never touched a stem before, that's exactly who it's for. The studio also offers more advanced workshops around the city — garlands, wreaths, and flower crowns — and partners with local flower farms and artists, so if you get a taste for it, there's more to dive into later.
The morning takes on extra meaning as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month: 10% of the proceeds from every ticket go to Susan G. Komen to support breast cancer research. Your ticket also includes a handcrafted coffee or non-alcoholic cocktail from Good News Bar, a lounge in Hillcrest known as one of San Diego's most exciting new gathering spaces. It's a good spot to hang out and sip something while you work.
