Electronic music night featuring Evan Giia, Codak and Groove Affair at Music Box SD, with doors opening at 9:00 PM.
Evan Giia, Codak, and Groove Affair play Music Box SD on Saturday, October 10. It's a three-act bill that pulls from a few different corners of the electronic scene, so the night should shift as it goes.
Evan Giia is the one with the most distinct background of the bunch. She's a classically trained opera singer, and that voice is what sets her electronic pop crossover sound apart. She's a Berklee College of Music alumna, and you'll recognize her from the breakout single "WESTWORLD" and "Don't Let Me Let Go," the one she did with Dillon Francis and Illenium that hit number one on dance radio charts. She's played Coachella, EDC, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and Electric Forest, and has shared stages with ODESZA, Illenium, Dillon Francis, Louis The Child, Alison Wonderland, Jai Wolf, Two Friends, and Discolines.
Groove Affair brings a different energy to the mix. They're a DJ, live vocalist, and producer duo fronted by vocalist and DJ Jenny Voss and producer and DJ Chris Grooves. They describe their sound as a blend of deep techhouse, soulful vocals, and driving basslines, and they run their own label, Lover's Groove Records. They've supported acts like Eats Everything, Afriqua, and Neil Frances.

Codak rounds out the lineup. Between the three, you've got a singer-songwriter with a classical pedigree, a techhouse duo with a live vocalist, and Codak's set, so the room should move through a fair amount of ground over the course of the night. It's a 21-and-up event. Doors open at 9 PM and the music starts at 9:30 PM at Music Box SD, 1337 India Street, San Diego, CA 92101.
