Dusty Slay

Dusty Slay is playing the Balboa Theatre on Saturday, October 17, 2026. It's a stand-up comedy show presented by Balboa Theatre Outback, and Slay is the only name on the bill.

If you haven't followed him, Slay comes from a background that doesn't exactly scream "stand-up comic." He grew up on Lot 8 of a mobile home neighborhood in Opelika, Alabama, with a love for classic country and rock and a career that included waiting tables and selling pesticides. He broke into the comedy world later than most: at 36, he became the youngest comedian at the time to perform on the Grand Ole Opry stage, and he's leaned into that country connection ever since. He's hosted major country-music events like Hangover Fest at the ACMs in Las Vegas in 2022 and the Forever Country Stage at CMA Fest.

Beyond the country circuit, he's appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and was in season 3 of Netflix's The Stand Ups. He's also put out two Netflix specials in recent years: WORKIN' MAN in 2024, which led to partnerships with brands like Cracker Barrel, Lugz, and Field & Stream, and WET HEAT in the summer of 2025. This is a headlining set, so you'll get the full hour.

A few practical things before you go: the Balboa Theatre is a cashless venue, so leave the cash at home and bring a card. All ages must have their own ticket, and photography, audio, and video recording are strictly prohibited inside. The show starts at 7 PM, and doors open an hour before.
