Heavy metal concert featuring Chad Gray celebrating 30 years of metal, with support from Butcher Babies and Devil's Cut.
Chad Gray brings his 30 Years of Madness tour to the House of Blues San Diego on Monday, October 5, with Butcher Babies and Devil's Cut opening. Gray is an Illinois-born singer who fronted the heavy metal bands Mudvayne and Hellyeah, and his style blends nu metal and groove metal, alternating guttural screams and melodic passages. This tour marks three decades in metal, and he's pulling from both of those bands for the setlist.
If you're coming for the Mudvayne side of things, L.D. 50 went gold, and the band released new songs in 2025. Hellyeah adds the other half of the equation. Gray's plan is to pack the set with hits from both, so you'll hear material from across his career rather than just one era. It's a career-spanning night, not a single-album tour.
Butcher Babies and Devil's Cut open the bill. Butcher Babies is a Los Angeles heavy metal band known for aggressive live shows and dual female vocals, with albums like Goliath, Lilith, and the double album Eye for an Eye... / ...'Til the World's Blind charting on Billboard. Devil's Cut is a country-metal band formed in 2018 with manager Cody Ash; they broke out with a 2019 cover of Dan + Shay's "Tequila" and scored a TikTok hit with 2022's "Insomnia."
