An unofficial costume bar crawl along Adams Avenue from Kensington to Normal Heights with no cover or tickets.
The Adams Avenue Halloween Bar Crawl returns to Adams Avenue on Saturday, October 24, running from 7 PM to 2 AM. It's an unofficial costume crawl that stretches along the avenue from Kensington to Normal Heights, and the whole thing is freeβno cover, no tickets, just you and your costume. You buy your own drinks as you go, so you can stop at one spot or work your way through the whole stretch.
Because it's unofficial, there's no set itinerary or ticket to hold onto. You just pick your starting point and move between the bars. A few of the spots that draw the crowd are Sycamore Den, Tiger!Tiger!, Blind Lady Ale House, and Rosie O'Grady's, all in the Normal Heights and Kensington area. The stretch between Sycamore Den and Blind Lady Ale House tends to be the busiest part of the night, so if you're looking for the thick of the crowd, that's where you'll find it.
Since it's a neighborhood crawl, the energy stays local. You'll see people in costume moving from one place to the next, and because there's no cover charge, it's easy to drop in for one drink or stay for the whole night. If you're driving, the best bet is to park in the Adams Avenue business district lots and walk between the bars from there.
