A holiday concert featuring the YOSA Philharmonic and the Children's Chorus of San Antonio, returning for its third year.
YOSA & CCSA Present: A Holiday Spectacular returns to the H-E-B Performance Hall at the Tobin Center on Saturday, December 19, 2026. It's the third year the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio and the Children's Chorus of San Antonio have put this on together, and it's billed as a family-friendly concert, so it's a good one to bring the kids along for.
The lineup brings together several groups from across the city's youth music scene. The YOSA Philharmonic, conducted by Troy Peters, takes the lead, joined by the YOSA Repertory Strings, conducted by Julie Post. On the choral side, you'll hear the CCSA Chorale, the Choristers, and the Concert Choir. There's also a guest conductor from the North Pole in the mix, which sets the tone for the whole evening.
To get a sense of who's on stage, it helps to know where these groups come from. YOSA, led by Troy Peters, runs eleven orchestras for young musicians ages 8 to 20 and reaches more than 2,500 youth through its orchestras, a summer symphony camp, and school partnerships. Its mission is to remove financial and social barriers to high-quality music education. The YOSA Philharmonic performs professional-level repertoire in premier venues, and the YOSA Repertory Strings is the program's second-most-advanced string orchestra. The Children's Chorus of San Antonio is a community-based non-profit dedicated to enriching young people's experiences through choral singing and musical performance. The concert is part of the Tobin Center's holiday concert series, and it's the third year the two organizations have shared the bill.
