A tribute to veterans with entertainment, activities, a flag ceremony, and the Hero's Salute at Orca Encounter, part of SeaWorld's Waves of Honor programme.
SeaWorld San Antonio is hosting its Veterans Appreciation Celebration from Thursday, November 5 through Sunday, November 8, 2026. It's a four-day stretch of entertainment and activities built around Veterans Day, and the whole thing falls under the park's 'Waves of Honor' program—their military salute that offers exclusive discounts and special offers to the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
There's a specific set of things to look for over the weekend. You'll find Veterans Day entertainment and activities throughout the park, and the daily flag ceremony at the front gate, which is a 61-year tradition where they play the National Anthem as the gates open. The highlight is the Hero's Salute at Orca Encounter, a dedicated tribute to veterans that puts the focus on the people the weekend is meant to honor.
That tradition runs deeper than just one weekend. SeaWorld San Antonio leans into the city's identity as a Military City, and 'Waves of Honor' is how they keep that connection going year-round. The flag ceremony has been a part of the morning routine for over six decades, and this celebration is built around that same spirit of recognition for service members.
