Weekly afternoon live music session with local artist Chris Lopez, featuring happy hour and free entry as part of the Rocktober programme.
Chris Lopez plays The Rock at La Cantera on Sunday, October 18, as part of the Sunday Scaries series. It's an afternoon set, 2 PM to 6 PM, and it's free to get in.
Sunday Scaries is The Rock's weekly afternoon unwind, which runs every Sunday throughout October as part of their Rocktober program. The idea is to stretch the weekend a little longer with live music from local artists and Happy Hour specials. Lopez is the third name on the October lineup: Meghan Marie kicked things off on October 4, Bru's Tunes followed on October 11, and Aaron Montano-Teague will close out the month on October 25.
The Rock sits off I-10 and Loop 1604, east of The Shops at La Cantera and Celeste at La Cantera Apartments. The music happens at Frost Plaza, which is built as a family-friendly spot with an interactive splash pad, a basketball tree, a half-court, and a 40-foot LED screen. Food and drink come from San Antonio restaurateur Jason Dady's chef-driven concepts, ranging from Tuscan-inspired dining and Texas barbecue to shaved ice and seasonal crawfish boils, with Lil Bros BBQ and Ice Ice Dady at the kiosks. When the weather turns, the venue also hosts a six-week 'Holidays at The Rock' winter wonderland.
