Live show by Portland's Soft Kill, blending crunk, glam and shoegaze, at the 21+ venue Paper Tiger.
Soft Kill play Paper Tiger on Saturday, October 17, with the show starting at 9 PM. They're coming in from Portland, Oregon, and they're the only act on the bill.
If you're not familiar with them, the best place to start is how they describe their own sound: they put themselves at the intersection of crunk, glam and shoegaze. It's a strange combination on paper—the heavy bass and club energy of crunk, the theatrical flash of glam, and the wall of noise and reverb that defines shoegaze—and that's exactly where the interest lies. Hearing those three things pull in different directions at once is what they do.
