San Antonio Beer Week event featuring a screening of the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show, a costume contest, and the release of a new Black IPA.
Wild Barley Kitchen and Brewery is hosting a screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show on Tuesday, October 13, as part of San Antonio Beer Week. It's a double-feature of sorts: the movie on the screen and a new beer on tap. The night is a collaboration with Flix Brewhouse, and it's free to come, though tables are first-come, first-served, so arriving early is your best bet if you want a spot.
Before the movie starts, there's a Rocky Horror costume contest. If you've got a Frank-N-Furter or a Magenta look ready to go, it's worth dusting offβthe winner takes home tickets to the San Antonio Beer Festival. It's the kind of thing that makes the whole night feel more like a party than just sitting in a dark room.
And then there's the beer. The night marks the release of Fresh Pix, a Black IPA brewed for the occasion. It sits at 7.5% ABV, brewed with fresh Amarillo hops and dry-hopped with Cryo, Fresh Centennial, Citra, and Krush. If you're into hoppy IPAs, that's a lot of hop variety in one glass. It's a Black IPA, so it'll have that darker color and roastier edge, but the hop profile is where the heavy lifting is.
