21st annual beer festival with hundreds of craft and specialty brews, live music and DJ sets, German food and stein-holding contests at Hemisfair.
The San Antonio Beer Festival returns to Civic Park at Hemisfair on Saturday, October 17, starting at 12 PM. It's the 21st anniversary of the event, which first launched in 2005 and has grown over two decades into the city's premier beer celebration. This year it's back at its original birthplace, and it's coming with an Oktoberfest theme that nods to the area's German heritage.
The beer is the main draw: hundreds of craft and specialty brews from across Texas and around the world. But it's not just about the pours. The festival brings multiple stages of live music and DJ sets to the park, and the Oktoberfest theme carries through to the food and activities, with authentic German fare and stein-holding contests. There are also wines, ciders, and food trucks on site, along with local vendors.
One thing that sets it apart from your average festival is where the money goes. A portion of the proceeds benefits the San Antonio Food Bank, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars through the event over the years.
