Volume 49 of the PechaKucha series, featuring seven local presenters on design and architecture, plus live music by the 210 Young Jazz Trio.
PechaKucha San Antonio returns to Magik Theatre on Thursday, October 15, for Volume 49, the final event of its 2026 series. This one is a collaboration with the Texas Society of Architects, and the whole night is built around design, architecture and the built environment.
If you've never been to a PechaKucha, it's a specific format: each speaker gets 20 images that advance automatically every 20 seconds. That means every presentation lasts exactly 6 minutes and 40 seconds, and the slides keep moving whether the speaker is ready or not. It keeps things moving fast, and you get a good sense of what someone is passionate about without it dragging.
Seven local presenters take the stage for this volume: Sanda Coyle, Robert Diaz de Leon, Everett Fly, Kirt Haeberlein, Seema Kairam, Michelangelo Sabatino and Jessica Flynn Saldaña. Between them, they'll cover a range of topics within that design and architecture theme, so you'll see several different takes on the built environment in one sitting. The presentations run for about three hours in total, and the evening opens with a welcome reception and complimentary bites from local chefs and restaurants.

There's live music too, provided by the 210 Young Jazz Trio—Joel Castillo, Jared Finn and Isaiah Williams. PechaKucha San Antonio is a local chapter of a global arts and culture series that gives people a stage for their passions, and this is the last one they're putting on this year.
It's at Magik Theatre, 420 S. Alamo St., from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.
