Live show by Junkie, with Warphole, Cannon the Dealers and Pet Peeves, at Paper Tiger.
Junkie are playing Paper Tiger on Saturday, October 17, with three other bands on the bill. They're coming in from Los Angeles, and the night brings together acts from across the country: Warphole from Staten Island, Cannon the Dealers from Brownsville, and Pet Peeves from Chicago. It's a four-band lineup, so you'll get a full run of sets rather than just one act.
If you haven't heard of Junkie, they're hard to pin to a single sound. They describe their music as ranging across surf punk, dance, garage rock, lofi, electronic, punk, and rock. That's a wide spread—surf punk and garage rock on one end, electronic and lofi on the other—and they pull from all of it. It's the kind of band that doesn't stay in one lane, so the set should move through a few different moods.
The supporting acts add their own geography to the mix. Warphole is coming from Staten Island, New York; Cannon the Dealers are based in Brownsville, Texas; and Pet Peeves are traveling in from Chicago. Between them and Junkie, you've got bands from the East Coast, the Midwest, and the West Coast on one stage in San Antonio.
