The Glenn Miller Orchestra performs a holiday concert with classic Christmas and swing standards.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra brings its holiday show to the H-E-B Performance Hall on Tuesday, December 22, at 7 PM. It's a big band on a Christmas program, and they're bringing more than 18 musicians and singers to the stage.
The set pairs the band's timeless hits with a twist on favorite Christmas songs. On the holiday side, you'll hear Home for the Holidays, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, White Christmas, Jingle Bells and I'll be Home for Christmas. Those sit alongside the all-time favorites the orchestra is known for: Chattanooga-Choo Choo, Moonlight Serenade, In the Mood and Pennsylvania 6-5000. It's a mix of the two—the Christmas standards and the swing classics—running through the same evening.
The venue is the H-E-B Performance Hall inside The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, at 100 Auditorium Circle in downtown San Antonio. The center occupies the historic Municipal Auditorium, which kept its original facade and sits along the banks of the San Antonio River. The hall itself holds 1,746 seats and has a flat-floor capability and acoustics that can be tuned to fit the performance. The center opened after Bexar County voters approved $100 million in construction bonds in May 2008.
