Concert by the influential American rock band Dinosaur Jr., with Stef Chura as the opening act, at the Paper Tiger venue.
Dinosaur Jr. play the main stage at Paper Tiger on Friday, November 6, with Detroit's Stef Chura opening the night. The show is presented by Resound.
If you're not familiar with the name, Dinosaur Jr. formed in Amherst, Massachusetts, and has since become one of the most recognized American rock bands of all time. They're best known for the sound they pioneered in the late 1980s, which brought the crashing sounds of lead guitar back to indie rock several years before Nirvana. It's a particular kind of noise—effects-laden guitars wrapped around some of the best songwriting of that decade—and it's a sound they've kept at the center of their work for decades. That loud-guitar-forward approach is exactly what you'll hear on the night.
Stef Chura opens the bill, bringing the Detroit scene to San Antonio for the evening. The two acts together make for a full night of guitar-driven music, with Chura setting the stage before Dinosaur Jr. takes over the main stage.
