DĂa de los Muertos celebration at Mexico Ceaty with Pan de Muerto, cempasĂșchil cocktails, a community ofrenda and Catrina face painting.
Mexico Ceaty is celebrating DĂa de los Muertos throughout the month, with a particular focus on Sunday, November 1. The whole thing centers on memory, family, and the people we carry with us, with the cempasĂșchilâthe marigold synonymous with the holidayârunning through almost everything they're doing.
Chef Stephannie Beyers, the house master baker, is bringing her own story to the table. Her Pan de Muerto comes with cempasĂșchil cream, and her Concha with Mole Ganache is inspired by memories of her grandmother. She's also making one-of-a-kind black tortillas with cempasĂșchil flower. To drink, there's La Ofrenda, a seasonal cocktail made with Hennessy, cempasĂșchil flower, ginger, bitters, and key lime.
Inside, a Community Ofrendaâan altar where you can add a photo of a loved oneâstays up all month. Outside, a DĂa lightbox sits on the San Antonio River Walk in partnership with Visit San Antonio. If you're in the mood for something a bit more tucked away, the venue also hides a speakeasy inside called El Ăltimo.
